Ingredients
  

Fruit Base
  • 1 lb peaches (peeled and sliced) Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of peaches.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Cobbler Topping
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed Use warm butter for easier mixing.
  • 1 tbsp milk (non-dairy optional)
  • 1 tbsp sugar (for sprinkling)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine peeled peaches, 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup self-rising flour and 1/4 tsp salt.
  5. Cut in cubed butter until the mixture looks crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle 1 tbsp sugar over the butter mixture.
  7. Gradually stir in milk until a thick batter forms.
  8. Spread the dough evenly over the peaches.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes until cobbler is golden and bubbly.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with caramel sauce for an indulgent treat. This cobbler keeps well in the fridge for 3-5 days.
