Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brewed strong coffee, cooled Brewed coffee intensifies the chocolate flavor.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature eggs for a fluffier cake.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter until creamy, then add the coffee, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. Mix powdered sugar, brewed coffee, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  2. Spread the frosting over the cooled cake before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings for elegance. Store at room temperature for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
