  • 4 pieces pork chops Bone-in is preferable for flavor.
  • 2 pieces apples, sliced Feel free to mix different varieties.
  • 1 piece onion, sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider Can be substituted with chicken broth or a mix of apple juice and water.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper, then sear them in the skillet until browned on both sides.
  3. Place the sliced apples and onion in the slow cooker.
  4. Add the seared pork chops on top of the apples and onions.
  5. Pour the apple cider over everything and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, until the pork is tender.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, with apples and onions on top.

Notes

For added flavor, consider a splash of vanilla or add vegetables like carrots or potatoes. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
