Main Ingredients
  • 4 large large eggs
  • 1 cup half and half Can substitute with a mix of milk and heavy cream.
  • 1 cup gruyere cheese, shredded Can use other cheeses if desired.
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup fresh lump blue crab meat Fresh crab meat recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 store-bought pie crust A gluten-free crust can be used for a gluten-free version.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Essential for enhancing flavors.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and half and half until well combined.
  3. Stir in the gruyere cheese, parmesan cheese, and crab meat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Place the store-bought pie crust into a pie dish.
  5. Pour the egg mixture into the pie crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly browned on top.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days or frozen for up to a month. Reheat in the oven for best results. Variations include using shrimp or sautéed spinach instead of crab.
