Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Make sure not too hot
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce Chill for easier drizzling
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to customize with different types of chocolate

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Assembly
  1. Spread half of the oat mixture into the prepared baking pan, pressing it down firmly.
  2. Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over the oat mixture.
  3. Add the remaining oat mixture on top and drizzle with the rest of the caramel.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Let cool in the pan before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. These bars can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week or frozen for up to three months.
