Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
- Add heavy cream, salt, and pepper, then bring to a simmer.
Assembly
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.
- Repeat with the remaining potatoes and cheese sauce.
- Top with shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for added crunch.
Cooking
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
