  • 1 9-inch pie crust 1 pre-made pie crust (9-inch) Use a store-bought crust for convenience.
  • 8 slices 8 slices bacon Fry until crispy and then chop.
  • 1 cup 1 cup Swiss cheese (shredded) Can substitute with cheddar or preferred cheese.
  • 4 large 4 large eggs Ensure they are fresh.
  • 1.5 cups 1½ cups heavy cream Half-and-half can be used as a substitute.
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons fresh chives (chopped) Can be adjusted for preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy, about 8 minutes, then drain on paper towels and chop into small pieces.
  3. Carefully roll out the pie crust and fit it into a pie dish, trimming any excess hanging over the edges.
  4. Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling during baking.
  5. In a mixing bowl, crack the eggs, add the heavy cream, and whisk until well combined.
  6. Stir in salt, pepper, and nutmeg until blended smoothly.
Assembly
  1. Spread the chopped bacon evenly across the pie crust.
  2. Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese over the bacon.
  3. Slowly pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped chives on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  2. Let the quiche cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve with a simple side salad and a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette for a complete meal. Can be made in advance and stored in the fridge or frozen for later.
