Ingredients
  

For the pasta
  • 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti Use your favorite pasta.
For the shrimp scampi
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp are recommended.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Divided into two portions.
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Toasted garlic is key for layered flavors.
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes Adjust to taste for spiciness.
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine Can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish For a fresh finishing touch.

Method
 

Cooking the pasta
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
Making the shrimp scampi
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and half of the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the shrimp, cooking until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour in the white wine and lemon juice, bringing to a simmer.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water, tossing to combine.
  6. Stir in the remaining butter, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes. The dish is best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days.
