  • 1 can (29 oz) sliced peaches in syrup Drained before use
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk Can use almond milk as a substitute
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Use plant-based butter for a vegan option
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish, then pour the batter over the butter (do not stir).
  5. Drain the canned peaches and evenly distribute them over the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a delightful contrast in temperature and texture. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
