  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Use sharp cheddar for more flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, combine the elbow macaroni, water, and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce the heat and let it simmer, stirring frequently, until the macaroni is tender and the liquid has thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Stir in the butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For added creaminess, mix in some cream cheese or sour cream. You can also throw in veggies during the simmering stage for a nutritious boost.
