For the Chicken
  • 4 pieces boneless chicken thighs Ensure they are skinless for best results
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating the chicken
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For coating the chicken
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for spice level
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper Use as per preference
  • Vegetable oil for frying Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying
For Assembly
  • 4 pieces sandwich buns Soft and preferable for the sandwich
  • Pickles For topping
  • Sliced jalapeƱos (optional) For an extra kick
  • Hot chicken sauce For drizzling on the assembled sandwich

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in buttermilk for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet.
  2. Remove chicken from buttermilk, coat with the seasoned flour mixture, and fry until golden brown and cooked through.
Assembly
  1. Assemble sandwiches by placing fried chicken on buns, adding pickles and jalapeƱos if desired, and drizzling with hot chicken sauce.

Notes

For best results, let the chicken marinate longer and ensure oil is at the right temperature for frying.
