  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten Can substitute with flaxseed meal or applesauce for a vegan version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with a gluten-free blend.
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips Adds extra flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas with the melted butter.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Finally, stir in the flour and chocolate chips until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This banana bread is best enjoyed warm. It can be sliced with butter, toasted, or paired with coffee or tea for a cozy treat. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days, in the fridge for up to a week, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Microwave for a few seconds to warm before serving.
