- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice butter-side down on the skillet.
- Add a layer of shredded cheese on top, followed by fresh blueberries.
- Sprinkle with salt if desired.
- Cover with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook the other side.
- Once the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy, remove from heat.
- Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
This grilled cheese is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet to regain the crispiness. Prepare fillings in advance for easy assembly before cooking.
