Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use good quality for better flavor.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs Bring to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup whole milk Can substitute with buttermilk for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Additional Ingredients
  • 1 cup boiling water This keeps the cake moist.
  • 1 cup chocolate frosting For frosting between layers and on top.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in boiling water until well mixed (the batter will be thin).
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes in the pans before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. Once cooled, spread chocolate frosting between the layers and on top of the cake.
  2. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For better results, ensure ingredients are at room temperature and follow the mixing order. Optionally, fold in chocolate chips for extra chocolate flavor.
