Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced Any type of potato works well.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheese types.
  • 1 onion, chopped Add more for extra flavor if desired.
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (optional) Adds creaminess but can be omitted.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the beef is cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, diced potatoes, shredded cheese, and seasonings.
  4. If using, stir in the cream of mushroom soup to add creaminess.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and cover with foil.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  3. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking to allow the cheese to become golden and bubbling.
  4. Serve warm and enjoy your comforting meal!
