  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
  • 4 pieces hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for sautéing

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the sliced onions (and bell peppers, if using) until they’re soft and fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  4. Preheat your oven or toaster oven.
  5. Place the hoagie rolls on a baking sheet.
  6. Fill each roll with the beef and onion mixture and top with provolone cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and the rolls are toasted.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your cheesesteak!

Notes

These cheesesteaks keep well in the fridge for about 3-4 days. Freeze the filling in airtight containers for up to 3 months.
