Method
Cooking the Pasta and Broccoli
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water.
- In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot with the pasta.
- Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and broccoli.
Sautéing
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet, tossing everything together.
- If needed, add reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat with a splash of water.
