  • 1 loaf Texas toast or thick bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread the butter mixture generously on one side of each slice of Texas toast.
  4. Place the slices butter-side up on a baking sheet.
  5. Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheese evenly on top of each slice.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and serve hot.

Notes

For storage, keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 days. For freezing, wrap slices individually in plastic wrap, then store in a freezer bag. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-10 minutes.
