  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 8 ounces pasta (such as penne or rotini)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  4. Add ground turkey, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked through.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and cooked pasta.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish, sprinkle cheese on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, caramelize the onions and garlic before adding the turkey. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
