  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce 1 can
  • 2 cups pasta (e.g., rotini or penne)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (e.g., mozzarella and cheddar)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning; cook until browned.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce and beef broth; let simmer for a few minutes.
  5. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain.
  6. Combine cooked pasta with the beef mixture in a large casserole dish; mix well.
  7. Top with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

This casserole keeps well in the fridge for about 3-4 days. A splash of broth can revive that creamy consistency when reheating. To prep ahead, assemble the dish the night before and bake it when ready.
