  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (or water)
  • 1/2 cup custard
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Fresh fruits or nuts for topping optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine the rolled oats, milk (or water), and a pinch of salt.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.
  3. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and creamy.
  4. Stir in the custard, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
  5. Cook for another 2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve warm in bowls and top with fresh fruits or nuts if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for a minute or two. Consider adding cinnamon or coconut flakes for variation.
