  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups seafood broth Can substitute with chicken or vegetable broth.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Add more for a creamier texture.
Vegetables
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Toasting enhances flavor.
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
Spices & Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
Garnish
  • Fresh cilantro For garnish
Cooking Oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Used for sautéing.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  2. Toss in the bell pepper and shrimp, cooking until the shrimp turns pink.
  3. Stir in seafood broth and diced tomatoes, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream, allowing the mixture to thicken.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.

Notes

To make it spicier, add diced jalapeños or hot sauce. This dish pairs well with a crispy baguette for dipping.
