Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat until hot, but do NOT boil.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
- Dot the top with butter.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve with a fresh green salad or garlic bread. Leftovers keep well for 3-5 days in the refrigerator. Assemble a day ahead for convenience.
