  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in the boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  3. Frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and enjoy.

Notes

To enhance the cake's moistness, do not skip the boiling water. You can also experiment with different oils, frostings, and fillings for variations.
