Preparation
- Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sea salt.
- Gradually add this to the wet mixture until it forms a smooth dough.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Form tall, lumpy balls and place them on the baking sheets. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- Cool on the baking sheet before moving to a wire rack, optionally sprinkling with sea salt.
Notes
These cookies are best served warm with milk or topped with vanilla ice cream. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
