Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef or sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs (about 1 inch in size) and place them on a baking sheet.
Baking
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, heat marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
Assembly
- Slice the hoagie rolls and place them on a baking dish.
- Spoon the meatballs and sauce into each roll, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes
Tip: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce for a bit of spice. You can also use different cheeses like provolone or fontina.
