Ingredients
  

For the Cupcakes
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Room temperature
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 0.5 cups milk Room temperature
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
For Decorating
  • 1 batch buttercream frosting For decorating
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs For beach sand
  • 1 cup blue colored sugar or sprinkles For water
  • 1 cup candy shells or small edible beach-themed decorations

Method
 

Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let them cool completely.
Decoration
  1. Once cooled, frost each cupcake with buttercream frosting.
  2. Decorate with graham cracker crumbs for sand, blue sugar or sprinkles for water, and add any beach-themed decorations.

Notes

Store cupcakes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze them for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
