  • 1 piece ripe banana The star ingredient, should be very ripe for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Mix-Ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mash the ripe banana until it’s smooth and creamy.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, then mix in the mashed banana.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  2. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For long-term storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
